Well Installation Services
Installing wells to screen groundwater and water quality.
Spartan Drilling Well Installation Process
The initial step to our well installation process is choosing the location of where the well will be inserted. This is directed to us by an LSRP or consultant. Spartan Drilling is dispatched to the location with our top-of-the-line equipment, ready to drill. We then provide the appropriate procedures for the job. Our professionals select the proper drilling method, the correct installation of screen and casing, determine the right size screen slot and filter pack, and finally complete with the proper surface conditions. Spartan Drilling installs the well safely and accurately to provide the best results for the analysis of groundwater.
Monitoring Well Installation
Monitoring wells allow for the measure the level of groundwater and water quality. These wells are drilled with a small diameter into the ground and extract groundwater samples for water analysis. This permanent well collects information as the water level rises and falls in the tube sealed in the ground. Monitoring wells track the opportunity for contamination from surface spills of chemicals, overfilled or leaking underground storage tanks or by the overuse of fertilizer on farmed land. A monitoring well is the key tool used to visualize how groundwater is stored and moves underground – it ensures that contaminated water is not used for consumption and keeps track of water resources that are exploited sustainably. Follow the image shown on this page to find a greater understanding of a monitoring well and how it can help restore safe water.
Types of Monitoring Wells
Determine the type of monitoring well you need and what results you are looking for. Spartan Drilling installs three different types of monitoring wells, the following are:
- Shallow Piezometers: This well measures water pressure at a given depth as well as taking water samples. It has a solid pipe construction that does not allow water penetration from the sides, it only enters from the bottom. This allows for reading pressures at the bottom of the well.
- Water-table wells: This well goes down into the water table and measures where the top is at this particular location. Where the water settles along the pipe identifies where the water table level is.
- Groundwater monitoring well: This well is installed in an aquifer at a certain depth and used to collect water samples to determine if groundwater is contaminated.
